The aim of the My Education project is to help parents better understand their children's education.

Do you have a child currently in school but would like to know more about the British Education system:

  • What is a key-stage?
  • When do they choose their subject choices?
  • What opportunities are available for them after GCSEs?

If you are left confused and feel that you don’t fully understand the British Education System, but would like to find out more, then the My Education project is a good place to start.

We asked the pupils what subjects they are doing, and to talk about exams, homework, after-school classes, and school rules.

The pupils asked why they are put in sets, how the grading system works, and how they can get extra help with revision and improving their grades.

The pupils went to UWIC, to ask students why they decided to go to uni, what other options they considered, and how they support themselves while studying.

Listen to the pupils tell their own stories about
their first day at school in the UK, how the British
Education System differs from the country they
were born in, and what their plans are for the
future.

We interviewed the parents of the pupils and
asked them what they think about the British
Education System, if they feel involved in their
child's education, and how British schools
could be improved.
